New Client: Westland

We are thrilled to announce we have been appointed as lead agency by UK’s No1 Horticulture Brand, Westland

New Client: Westland

Westland Horticulture, the UK’s favourite gardening brand, has appointed creative agency Red Brick Road as its lead creative agency after a 5-way competitive pitch process.

Westland Horticulture is a privately-owned business, famous for its eponymous Westland brand (growing media and feeds) and Peckish (Bird Care), as well as other market-leading gardening brands including Unwins, Kent & Stowe, Resolva, Boost and Gro-Sure.

Founded in Ireland in 1990, the business provides gardening products and solutions to independent garden centres, large high street retailers, supermarkets and online to gardeners in the UK and across Europe.

Red Brick Road has been appointed to provide holistic brand strategy and creative across the portfolio of brands, to bring the brands even closer to gardeners.

Long term, activity will include strategic brand portfolio management, as well as integrated campaigns across core brands and across all media.

Initially, the appointment has seen the agency create a new £1m TV campaign for Peckish Bird Care which launches in December. Supported by press and social activations, the campaign brings to life the brand’s promise of bringing the colour of wild birds to your garden and also talks to a wider brand mission that the brand has to support nature through ongoing initiatives.

Commenting on the appointment, Keith Nicholson, Marketing Director of Westland Horticulture, said “From the outset, Red Brick Road impressed us with their thorough understanding of our complex business, and they share our vision of the larger role we’d like to have in gardeners’ lives. Their breadth of expertise is compelling, from Brand through to PR, social media and trade marketing. We’re delighted to be partnering with them.”

David Miller, CEO of Red Brick Road said “I’ve got VERY green fingers, so working with the best brand in the business is personally as well as professionally rewarding. Not only do Westland have market-leading efficacious products, but their ambition to nurture gardeners to grow is something we’re thrilled to help them to unleash.”
